The Rockdale City Council New Waste Collection Service DVD was delivered to over 35,000 households across the City in February 2008. The objective of the Waste Collection Service DVD was to communicate Council's future vision for waste management through information on the new Waste Service, and to encourage correct participation by residents in regards to the new Waste Service.

The new Waste Service features a Garbage and Organics Recovery Bin where garbage and green waste could be disposed of together and then recovered using an Alternative Waste Technology. This will ensure our resource recovery (i.e. collected waste that we can reuse or recycle), will increase over the next 10 years from 25% to 70%.
